2019 IBSA World Powerlifting & Bench Press Championships

The 2019 IBSA World and first Africa Powerlifting & Bench Press Championships was held in Giza, Egypt on 15-22 November 2019. 75 athletes representing 10 countries participated in this event. Triptpal Singh from India won a bronze medal in Powerlifting under the 125kg category. The International Blind Sports Federation also hosted a Coaching and Referring Seminar alongside the Powerlifting Championship. Deepak Kumar, coach of Triptpal Singh successfully completed the training to become an official IBSA Referee (Powerlifting).
