SUMMARY:Football Tournament (2023)
DESCRIPTION:To foster inclusivity\, a blind football match was organized on 24 June 2023 at Jayshree Periwal International School\, Jaipur. This special event was co-organized by Scout Me and Indian Blind Football Federation along with partners such as the Rajasthan Football Association\, Paralympic Committee India\, Jayshree Periwal International School\, and Indian Blind Sports Association. \nThe main purpose of the event was to highlight the incredible potential of visually impaired individuals and celebrate their exceptional abilities. The event aimed to break barriers and promote inclusivity and empowerment. It showcased the talents of visually impaired individuals through a friendly blind football match. 5 teams consisting of about 70 visually impaired students from different states of India\, including Gujarat\, Delhi and Uttarakhand (Dehradun) participated in the match. 15 students from Delhi went as spectators of the match and were accompanied by 8 mentors who guided and supported them throughout. The players were blindfolded and were given a special stat vest\, exclusively tailored for the visually impaired\, which captured their moves and highlighted their exceptional abilities.

SUMMARY:USHA 22nd National Athletics Championship for the Blind
DESCRIPTION:The much-awaited 22nd USHA – IBSA National Athletics Championship for the Blind was organized from 14th December to 16th December 2022 at the Thyagraj Stadium\, New Delhi. This event was organized by IBSA in collaboration with USHA (Title Sponsor). \nAt the Championships\, there were 550 participants from 19 states including Tripura\, Tamil Nadu\, Maharashtra\, Uttar Pradesh\, West Bengal\, Karnataka\, Chhattisgarh\, Madhya Pradesh\, Jharkhand\, Rajasthan\, Gujarat\, Himachal Pradesh\, Uttarakhand\, Andhra Pradesh and Chandigarh. \nA total of 59 (31 for men\, 28 for women) international and indigenous events were organized under three categories- T11\, T12\, and T13. On 13 December\, the orientation was done for the managers of the teams participating in the Championship. Mr. K.C. Pande\, Executive Secretary of the Blind Relief Association\, Mr. C.P. Mohanan\, Vice Chairperson IBSA\, and Mr. David\, Hony. General Secretary IBSA were present at the meeting. \nThe inaugural function was presided over by Chief Guest\, Hon’ble Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi (Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of India) and Dr. Deepa Malik\, President –  Paralympic Committee of India as the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries such as Rev. J.K. Manchanda\, Treasurer – Sant Nirankari Charitable Mission; Prof. Sankar Kumar Sanyal\, President – Harijan Sevak Sangh; Shri Sanjay Rai\, Secretary – Harijan Sevak Sangh; Smt. Chhaya Shriram\, Director – Usha International; Smt. Komal Mehra\, Head of Sports Initiatives and Associations – Usha International; Ankur Dhama\, Arjuna Awardee were also present. In the inaugural ceremony\, a coffee table book “The Play of Dots” was released by Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi. \nThe first copy of the book was handed over to Ankur Dhama\, the first Indian blind athlete to take part in the Rio Paralympics 2016\, nurtured and trained by IBSA. The book highlights the accomplishments of visually challenged athletes whose struggles are often overlooked. SUMMARY:IBSA National Lawn Tennis Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Having conducted two lawn tennis coaching camps in Delhi and Mumbai in 2018 and 2019\, IBSA organized the 1st National Lawn Tennis Championship for the Blind in Patiala from 20-21 February 2020 in partnership with Patiala School for the Blind and Punjabi University. 12 players from B1 and 2 players from B2 Category participated in the event. The Championship trophy was won by Nibin Mathew (B -1 Category) and Manoj Kataria (B-2 Category). \nSight classification was done under 2 categories B1 and B2 at Govt. Rajinder Hospital\, Patiala under the guidance of Ms Vansika (Ophthalmologist)\, trained by Dr. Tania Jain IPC classifier. The closing ceremony of the championship was held at Lawn Tennis Court of Punjabi University\, Patiala (Punjab) on 21 February\, 2020. \nThe Chief Guests were Dr. B. S. Ghuman\, Vice Chancellor (Punjabi  University)\, Shri Davinder Kapur (Assistant Coach\, Ireland)\, Col. Karaminder Singh (Hony. Secretary Patiala School for the Blind/Deaf.)

SUMMARY:2019 IBSA World Powerlifting & Bench Press Championships
DESCRIPTION:The 2019 IBSA World and first Africa Powerlifting & Bench Press Championships was held in Giza\, Egypt on 15-22 November 2019. 75 athletes representing 10 countries participated in this event. Triptpal Singh from India won a bronze medal in Powerlifting under the 125kg category. The International Blind Sports Federation also hosted a Coaching and Referring Seminar alongside the Powerlifting Championship. Deepak Kumar\, coach of Triptpal Singh successfully completed the training to become an official IBSA Referee (Powerlifting).

SUMMARY:3rd National Blind Football Tournament 2018\, Kochi
DESCRIPTION:The third IBFF National Blind Football Tournament was conducted at Kochi from 27 April-1 May 2018. DCP Kochi\, Sri Kuruppasamy IPS was the chief guest of the event. Mr David Absalom Hony\, General Secretary IBSA Delhi was the Guest of Honour for the occasion. Twelve teams participated in the tournament from across the country and the Academy Team Kochi won the championship. \n

SUMMARY:USHA SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR THE BLIND
DESCRIPTION:The opening ceremony of the event was held 8 January morning at the Blind Relief Association\, New Delhi. Mrs. Radhika Bharat Ram\, Chairperson\, Indian Blind Sports Association (IBSA) delivered the welcome address and formally declared the USHA Sports Championship for the Blind open. \nThe 6-day event was organized by the Indian Blind Sports Association (IBSA) with USHA being the title Sponsor in the premises of the Blind Relief Association\, Delhi. The list of our other sponsors is provided as Annexure – I. The event witnessed over 600 participants\, including 150 female blind sportspersons from eighteen states. \nThe sports events included 4th IBSA Kabaddi Championships; 7th IBSA Powerlifting Championships; 2nd IBSA Judo Championship; Coaching Camp and Seminar on Blind Sports. For the first time\, blind Kabaddi and Judo for females was introduced. The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Radhika Bharat Ram\, Chairperson\, IBSA. \n The following activities were held during the Sports Championships: \n➢ Athletics Coaching Camp and Seminar was held parallel to the Championship. In the coaching camp\, 34 coaches and athletes from different parts of the country were given special coaching by IBSA Chief Coach and Dronacharya Awardee Dr. Satyapal Singh. Mr G Krishnan\, World ParaAthletics Technical Official took a session on athletics competitions\, rules and regulations\, imperatives of fitness and practical fitness exercises. \n➢ The field session was conducted at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium under the guidance of Dr Satyapal and Mr G Krishnan. \n➢ Demonstration cum workshop on Goalball was also conducted for the first time. \n➢ Lawn Tennis Clinic was conducted by Shri Ramdas Shivhare\, who learned Lawn Tennis for blind from Japan while he was undergoing one year Leadership Training in Japan. The participants were introduced to the rules and techniques of the game. This was followed by practical session to give theparticipants a hand-on experience. \n➢ Ms Alayna Aisha\, Life Skills Teacher cum Counsellor held 2 Workshops on MindTraining for Success in Sports to highlight how having a focused mind in a sport/game is crucial for winning. \n➢ Practical fitness sessions were also held for the participants. \n➢ Session on sports injury\, warm-up and cooling down was held by Ms. Takako Kitahara\, Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOVC) at National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD)\, Dehradun. Over 40 participants including instructors from various states attended the session. \n➢ A special demonstration cum workshop on Frisbee\, new game for theBlind\, was conducted by Ms. Amita Chadha and her team highlighting Frisbee as a tool to break through the barriers of gender and disability biases. \nThe closing ceremony was held in the premises of the Blind Relief Association on 13 January 2018. Ms Chhaya Shriram\, Chief Guest gave away the Championship Trophies to the winners. In her speech she lauded the participation of women in the Championships and introduction of Women Kabaddi for the first time by Indian Blind Sports Association. She encouraged the players to continue improving their performance and skill and never give up any opportunity to display their talent. All the IBSA management committee members and members of BRA Management committee were present at the closing ceremony. \nDelivering the vote of thanks\, General Secretary Mr. A. David appreciated the performance of the athletes in the Meet and thanked all the sportspersons and supporting technical officials\, volunteers\, services of Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation and the staff of The Blind Relief Association in making the event a grand success. He acknowledged with gratitude the sponsors\, donors\, and others for supporting the cause of blind sports.
